Governor Mandago condemns the stoning of Raila’s chopper as the Commissioner confirms the arrest of 14 suspects
Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Mandago has condemned Embakasi MP Babu Owino and Suna East MP for linking him with the stoning of Raila Odinga’s chopper.
Speaking to the press at the County headquarters Mandago termed their utterances as unfortunate and ill intended.
“I want to address one Babu Owino and Junet Mohamed just because they have been in a league of political violence they think every politician subscribes to violence, personally I am above that I cannot as a governor and leader be among those who think retrogressively,” said Governor Mandago.
Mandago said he was the one who saved the two from an irate crowd.
“Junet and owino should be grateful to me governor Mandago, if i was a politician who just thinks about political divides and does politics of hatred and violence i could not have given them my car, when they were alighting. How can I stone him yet my car was also stoned,” reiterated Mandago.
“For Junet and Babu to insinuate that i was involved, this is uncalled for and ill intended , i am not in that league and i can interact with everyone no matter his or her political ,” he added.
He called in the police to conduct thorough investigations on the same and arrest all those involved in the heinous act.
“We don’t want empty promises from the inspector general of police; those criminals must be dealt with immediate effect to act as an example to people with similar behaviors. Everybody must take responsibility for their actions ,” he said.
Mandago warned politicians against being used by politicians to cause violence.
“I want to urge people to avoid being used to cause violence since if you are arrested you will be alone and no one will come to your rescue,’ he said.
