Raila Odinga’s tenure at AU finally ends

Kenya’s former prime minister Raila Odinga’s tenure as the African Union (AU) High Representative for Infrastructure Development in Africa has ended after five years.
This is was after a letter dated February 19, 2023 written by AU chairperson Moussa Faki confirmed his final journey at the organization.
In the letter, chairperson Moussa Faki appraised Mr Odinga’s efforts and exceptional leadership during his five year tenure.
“Your role in this journey, Excellency, has been invaluable, allow me to express my profound gratitude for accepting to serve in this role during the transition period, which has now come to a happy conclusion.” part of the letter read.
Odinga’s role was to support and mobilize political and infrastructural development across the continent. He championed in supporting the partnership for Africa’s Development Agency( NEPAD) that cemented the commitment for development in the continent.
In his term, Raila was dedicated to identifying the missing links along major highways in Africa with an aim of contributing to their development and modernization.
