THIS END MONTH

Take a trek to the streets buying sweets
You reap what you sow, that ever shows
After tones of sweat, it’s a petty penny
How bitter the meagre pay
How sweet, eating your sweat
With it, you challenge buddies to a spree
By dawn, you lay by a tree
Basking to the sun all after fun
A sex worker is reaping big, a month is long
Your favourite artist in town, with dancers in thing
Party the night away, use a tong
A knock at your door, it’s the land lady
Some rent is to be paid ‘daddy’
Your pocket is nil, so does the till
Take a loan, plead to the landlady make her moan
Manhood is all about effort, so they say
Find a way of the mammoth
Wake up, it’s the dawn of a new month
