Shoppers caught unawares as the Eldoret Tuskeys supermarket closed

The Tuskeys supermarket located in Uganda road today was closed after failing to pay the pilling rent amounting to over 14 Million.

According to Jeremiah Abina, an auctioneer working with Chattelss Auctioneers, they were instructed by the owners of the building to act on the delay of the piled rent by the Tuskeys Supermarket proprietors.
He says they had served them with notice of 14 days to pay but they never keep their word.

The troubled retailer suffered a blow after the supermarket was closed.

Shoppers at the supermarket were caught unawares during the Tuesday incident.

Abina now says they have issued them with three days whereupon elapsing without action, all the goods in the supermarket will be publicly auctioned.

“We have issued them 3 days to act upon, we shall auction all the items in the supermarket so that we can recover the rent dues,” said Abina.

This comes 6 days after Tuskeys in Kisumu closed its operation over the same reason.
