Fred Matiang’i receives the President sparking conversation as Deputy President looks on

The move by the interior CS is against protocol since it’s usually the Deputy President who welcomes the President on such occasions.

This is not the first time the Deputy President has faced such an instance. On October 10, during the National Prayer service at State house, Nyeri Catholic Archbishop Anthony Muheria welcomed the president to speak.
This was against protocol as the Deputy President should have been the one to usher the President on the podium.

The Deputy President also sat on the left side of the First lady during the occasion against the usual sitting arrangement where he does sit on the left side of the President next to the President’s seat.

The images speak volumes about the conversation of disunity between the President and his deputy. Certainly, there are more questions than answers arising from what is observed in the images.
