All set for Kariobangi sharks vs Everton clash

Kenya Football fans will once again have the privilege of watching England top team Everton play against one of their own , Kariobangi Sharks who finished at position 9 in the Kenya Premier League .This is after an announcement was made that English top flight Everton will tour Nairobi to compete for the the Sportpesa Cup against the Sharks. This comes after the Sharks beat Bandari FC 1-0 in the Sportpesa cup finals in January .

The man of the match was Mwendwa, whose strike in the 60th minute proved decisive at the National stadium in Dar es salaam,Tanzania.

Kariobangi Sharks have been in competition with eight top teams from Kenya and Tanzania to book a chance to play the Tofees.

Fellow Compatriots ,Gor Mahia two times Sportpesa cup winners have faced Everton twice and were not able to conquer Everton before, where in the first meeting they were defeated 2-1,with goals from Wayne Rooney and Kieran Dowell ensuring the Tofees emerge victorious in Tanzania ,not forgetting Goodison park humiliating 4-0 defeat in the hands of the English team .

K’ogalo were this time round Knocked out of the competition in the quarters through Penalties by Mbao FC from Tanzania.

The match is scheduled for July 7, at Moi International sports Centre, Kasarani

The Sharks are in this competition for the first time and will be hoping to come into this game to prove a point. The Tofees will surely not settle for less.
